Optional (for individual designs):

  • Assorted coloured felt squares (220mmx305mm)
  • 1 pack of assorted coloured pom pom’s
  • 1 pack of Christmas colours pom pom’s
  • 1 pack of wooden letters
  • Decorative pins or brads
  • 50cm ribbon per stocking

What to do:

1. Create a stocking template - we recommend approx. 40cm (h) by 25cm (w). You can download and print templates here.
Please note: The templates have been scaled down to fit on an A4 sheet. Scale the templates to how large you would like your stocking to be.

2. Cut out the paper templates.

3. Use templates to cut out felt pieces from your red and white felt squares – 2 x red main (sock body) sections and 2 x white top sections. Note the colours and number of pieces indicated on each template.

4. Take 1 red main sock body and 1 white top and stick together using a hot glue gun.  Overlapping 1.5cm. Repeat with the other red main sock body and white top.

5. Stick edges of the two stocking halves together except for the top section. Attach the white ribbon on the inside of the top of your stocking, long enough to hang from your desired location.

6. Plan your design and decorate your stocking!

Stick” – using hot glue gun.

'ZAC' Stocking:

  • Using the ‘ZAC’ template, cut 5 x felt white stripes and 1 x blue felt sock heel.
  • Stick the white stripes down onto the red sock body, then stick down the blue sock heel onto main.
  • Arrange pom pom’s to cover the white top and stick down one at a time with the glue gun.
  • Stick wooden letters onto the first white stripe.

'MUM' Stocking:

  • Using the ‘MUM’ template, cut out the flower, leaf and butterfly templates from your chosen pieces of coloured felt. Cut out as many flowers, leaves and butterflies as you would like on your stocking.
  • Create the flowers by making a small hole in the middle of each of the 5 sections. Then layer them on top of one another and secure them together with a decorative pin or brad.
  • Cut a length of white ribbon, tie around white top and finish with a bow.
  • Stick wooden letters just below the white top.

'DAD' Stocking:

  • Using the ‘DAD’ template, cut 6 x blue squares, 8 x white ribbon, 1 x golf fairway, 1 x golf hole and 1 x golf stick. Put aside 1 x large white pom pom for the golf ball.
  • Using a grey ribbon, create the lines on the golf stick head.
  • Arrange the blue squares and white ribbon (45 degree angles) on the white top stocking section, then stick down with the glue gun. Trim off the excess white ribbons.
  • Arrange the other elements (golf stick, ball – white pom pom, hole, fairway, wooden letters) and stick down with the glue gun.
